Grammar Pattern

[clause] + Noun

Modify nouns with relative clauses — Japanese puts the modifier before the noun.

昨日きのう買かった本ほんはとても面白おもしろい。 The book I bought yesterday is very interesting. 　（繁中：昨天買的那本書非常有趣。）
彼女かのじょが作つくったケーキケーキはおいしかった。 The cake she made was delicious. 　（繁中：她做的蛋糕很好吃。）
私わたしが住すんでいる町まちは静しずかです。 The town I live in is quiet. 　（繁中：我住的城鎮很安靜。）

In Japanese, where does the relative clause go?

BEFORE the noun it modifies

Translate: 私が好きな映画 (noun phrase)

The movie I like

Translate: 友達が住んでいるアパートは駅の近くにあります。

The apartment my friend lives in is near the station.
