Grammar Pattern
〜に対して / 〜に対する + Noun
Used to express: (1) direction of an action or feeling toward something; (2) contrast between two things.
Structure: Noun + に対して + (action/attitude)
💡 When modifying a noun directly, use に対する: 「問題に対する解決策」
Example Sentences
先生は生徒に対して親切です。 The teacher is kind towards the students. （繁中：老師對學生很親切。）
彼の意見に対して、私は反対です。 I am opposed to his opinion. （繁中：對於他的意見，我持反對態度。）
兄が勉強家なのに対して、弟は遊んでばかりいる。 While the older brother is studious, the younger one does nothing but play. （繁中：哥哥是個用功的人，弟弟卻只顧著玩。）
Reading
政府の新しい政策に対して、多くの市民が反対の声を上げた。政府はこの批判に対して、説明会を開くことにした。
Many citizens raised their voices in opposition to the government’s new policy. The government decided to hold an explanation meeting in response to this criticism.
